Campaigning and Fundraising

National Autistic Society logo

Campaigning to raise awareness of issues relating to autism is important in order to ensure fair and sufficient treatment of all children and adults with autistic spectrum disorders.

The National Autistic Society has campaign materials you can download from the website, as well as an extensive campaigning information pack to help you choose the approach most suitable for your campaign or the time you have at your disposal. Some of these campaigns are listed on the left, and you can visit the NAS website for more information on these and other campaigns.

The National Autistic Society relies on funds from voluntary sources to meet the special needs of people with autism, their carers and their families. Their Autism Helpline (0845 070 4004) does a valuable and necessary job in assisting people with their questions and problems, and to keep this happening, donations are vital. You can help by either donating or raising funds for the NAS. Some of the ways you can do this are listed on the left.

National Autistic Society's campaigns toolkit

As a lot of the campaigning aims to ensure that legislation and allocation of public funds takes the needs of autistic people into account, lobbying for change with your local government is also something you can do to help.

The National Autistic Society has a downloadable campaigns toolkit on their website which has all the necessary information on how to do this, and we have listed the ways you can get started in our Influencing Government section.
